keep dreaming....$27k is a steal for a new '07, the car retails for over $34k
Sure the car retails for $34k, but I don't think anyone has paid MSRP, or anywhere near it in fact, since about 2004...unless of course you're an uninformed, non-enthusiast with money to blow and/or the type that is so apathetic that they can't be bothered with an hour or two of internet research prior to purchase.
$27k a steal for a leftover two year old S2000? That is just seriously beyond laughable. There are two dealers in my area that can't even get rid of their Apex Blue 08 CR's and have them listed at $29,995. Their retail is closer to $38k.
Sorry, but you're way off the mark here and just not informed of their current market value.

27k is on the high end for a 07 and would not be a steal. I'd say 25-26k max is more of an accurate reflection for the price of 07. 27k on an 08 wouldn't be out of the question with the right dealer incentive.
Working backwards, 31k invoice, 2500 per year depreciation. That brings it to right around 25-26 for 07. Most people selling used 07s are asking for around 24. Working back another 2500, you'd get 22-23k which is what most people are asking for an 06. Though those are being sold at as low as 21 depending on milege.
Yea it's a new car, who gives a crap? The people buying it lol. The dealers obviously want to make as money as possible. I wonder with today's economy, if dealers will start posting on car forums to try to drum up business.

the economy is in the tank, it's the end of the year, and a horrible time to be selling a sports car, so, yes, amazing deals can be had, but $27k is still a good price for a new S2000
anyway, this wasn't intended to be a pissing match about who can claim the lowball price and pump their little fragile ego, what the heck is the deal with this forum? is this a collection of 23 year olds?

LOL actually yes, lots of people here are mid-20s.
$27k is a good price for a car that is virtually new. Yes, it has been sitting, but it's warrantied so who gives a damn. For the money saved, turbo the bitch.

Don't compare a CR to a regular S2000. If I had a choise between a new CR and the black 07, I'd take the 07. The CR is some what tacky and disfunctional for many people. My local honda dealer down the road from me has a black CR in the show room that has been there since early spring. It will probably sit there until the tires rot or they give it away. They have been out of regular s2000s for a long while (not that they ever have more than one or two max). If one can get the 07 for $30k OTD, then that is a reasonable deal if you plan to own it for a reasonable period of time (the only loss is in the blue book value the first year or two). Beware of those that tout new s2000s for $27 unless they post where their deal can be currently verified.
