Default Lemans Yellow HeadLight S2k?

Ok, two questions

#1, what is the point of having yellow headlights in the Lemans race???
#2, wouldn't it sort of look hot if the S2k had yellow lights like that? I saw a Bmw M3 2003 whcih had it yellowed out and it looked hot.

They are used to differentiate the classes speed wise.

I believe the "yellow headlights" you are referring to are for fog penetration. Yellow or amber headlights are standard equipment and required for all autos sold in France.

Maybe the yellow headlight requirement relates to French nationalistic thought process.

Yellow is much more effective at cutting through fog, rain, snow, etc. than the standard "white" beam is. I used to run yellow headlights in a previous car and in adverse conditions it was absolutely amazing.

Saw a black S2000 with them. IMO, very tacky.

Yeah in Le Mans they are used to help drivers tell if a fast prototype car is comming up on them (White lights) or a slower class car (yellow lights) is coming up on them.

I personally don't like them. Looks bad to me and doesn't really make sense to do something like this to a car that doesn't run at Le Mans. Sorry to say it but it looks like someone took a leak on your headlights.
