Less expensive wheel options?
Ok, for the moment this is all curiousity, but eventually I'd like to get some new wheels for my car. I realize that Volk, BBS, SSR, etc. are all "ideal" for our car, but they're also pretty costly.
What alternatives are there in a lower price bracket? To give some parameters, wheels must:
*have a reasonable offset for the s2000
*maintain the staggered setup
*be availible for ~$1500/ set of four (give or take a couple of hundred dollars if necessary) including decent tires
I'm personally interested in either 16" or 17" wheels, but if anyone has some ideas on 18's list them as well for the benefit of others. Please list tire recommendations and sizes as well if you have a specific preference.
I'm also aware of the powdercoating option, but I'm curious about the possibility of a new look.
Maybe if this really gets going, we can get it stickied for the benefit of others.

Honestly, I think it is better to spend the extra money on strong wheels. Wheels in the 1500s are probably lacking in the quality department. I'd rather buy a set of forged (strong and lightweight) for the peace of mind (and knowing I'm saving a few pounds), than buy a set of lesser quality wheels and have them bend over a speedbump or something.
I think your best bet is used wheels. If you keep a close eye on the "For Sale" forums, you will be able to pick up a set of volks for around ~$1800, and if you're lucky, around $1500.
Like many things, if you're willing to spend the time looking and waiting for the right deal, you'll likely find it.
