While I don't plan on swimming in the ocean anytime soon, I have done it in Russia in a frozen lake, and I drive with the top down no matter the weather. The only time my top is UP is in the summer. I hate the heat.

By all means go for it if you want. It would be great to turn the badge into an official one!
In that case we need to 'vote' on who will organize the forum!

I'd gladly propose Laurens and AssassinJN. Of course I'll also volunteer.

Take care,

Siepel

How come I knew a long time ago that someone was going to volunteer me?

So what's involved? To be honest, I've long wanted to start a website for all-season top down convertible drivers. This may be the leg up I need for that.

I've been a bit pressed for time to spend on here (work is limiting my web usage for a little while until they do some new firewall crap), but luckily this would be the end of the cold season for most members giving us some time to get general stuff together before next year.

laurens suggested 2 mods which would probably be a good idea, so I'm game.

According to admin AquilaEagle "there is no need for such a sub forum"... A pity if you ask me... But there you have it.

Can't say it's completely unexpected. A majority of the useful information falls under other forums all ready (tire, wash&wax etc).

For now we can just keep this thread alive with a yearly drive, perhaps have it stickied or create another FAQ for winter prep.

The least we can do, then, is collect links to this useful information. What have you found so far? I just find out the hard way what to do and what not to do.

ok, we didnt check if it was the coldest day of the year for our local s2k group drive--we were hoping it would be nice spring weather. unfortunately, it started nice, then got cold, and finally it started snowing rather violently during the drive. hobbit and i drove tops down through the snowstorm--everyone in the group got a great laugh when we drove to the head of the group with snow flying everywhere

does that qualify us to wear the badge?
