Default Letter "A" sticker under both side mirrors

While installing convex mirrors to both my side mirrors, I noticed a silver decal with the letter "A" attached to under side of both body housings. I just assumed it is Honda's way of rating that our S2K is their class A , top of the line car.
Has any one else made this discovery?
Does anyone know what their true purpose is?

First of all, why did you change your mirror on the passenger side of the car since it is already a convex mirror? Yes, I've seen the "A". Actually, I have only looked under the driver's side so I thought it might have meant American. That way, the assemblers would know to put the convex on the right side of the car.

Whats the easiest way to take them off of there? I've never attempted to remove them because I don't want to wreck the paint (mind you, our mirrors are cheap, shitty plastic anyhow).

I've wondered the same thing since first seeing them a few months ago when I was doing a transmission fluid change. Honestly it would probably just make more sense to leave them on considering some haven't even noticed them. It's not something that sticks out on the car so I just leave them there.

I suppose if you use your fingernail, you should be able to just peel them off.

These seem to have been on every S2000 from the start in 99. There was a big discussion on this probably 3 years ago and although we never figured it out we wondered if it might have something to do with shipping. What letter's do the cars in Europe have?

I notice them in the reflection on my doors, especially after a few coats of Zaino.

it's like the small crease in my passanger door, I'm the only person that can see it, and everyone else thinks I'm crazy
