Default License Plate Bulb

Sorry to ask such a lame question, I have searched the site many times and can not find an answer. I want to replace the bulb in the rear that shines on my plates with a blue bulb. Where do you find one? Do Auto Zone and similar stores carry these things? Does anyone think this would look good or does it sound realy gay? Be honest.

It looks great, I did it years ago along with the reverse lights.
Just take it out and bring it to Auto Zone.

Technically, blue lights are illegal. Your location maybe different, but doubt it. You are inviting them to pull you over.

I once replaced the bulbs over my rear plate with one red and one blue bulb.

It had the most interesting effect. Made the plate look like one of those blue & red 3-D images.

I have a hyperwhite back there.
it is a typical small wedge bulb available at all autoparts stores.

you can see all the makers and types/colors you want.

IMO blue is just asking for more attention...maybe pink!

It is just a standard bulb like is in the sidemarkers, and many cars dome lights. I have blue bulbs in on my Ranger's license plate and have had cops follow me many times and they have never said anything. BTW, they are available at Auto Zone, and any other auto parts store you may go to.

Yep, it's a standard #194 wedge bulb.

I'm sure autozone or your local autoparts store will carry these in a variety of pleasing flavors.

I have a superwhite bulb back there. The package said it was a M-4 bulb. It is the same bulb as the driving lights in the front corners and the same as the sidemarker bulbs.
