Default Lighted shift knob for S2000? Ala BMW m3...

I've always loved the M3 lighted shifter. I think this would look great in the S2k, backlit in red.

I found this one in aluminum, but it's only for a 5 speed:

Some more here:

I would get one if they had one in aluminum with a 6-speed pattern.

One of our board members (4IGS2000) a little over a year ago was going to make them, but couldn't find enough people to commit to about $100 each. He was going to make them out of titanium and possible some cheaper ones out of aluminim. He got pretty pissied off (with some justification) when lots of people expressed interest, but not enough were willing to shell out when he had the product ready.

Doesn't Ichiban make those street-ghetto things lighted with hot-wires?

Absolutely no flame intended but the sales quote from this just cracks me up..

"For that true racer..."

because "True Racers" can't find the shift knob in the dark?!

guys,

I got many compliments on lighted shifter on my BMW M5. It glows reddish at night and people loved it how it looked. It would have been a great addtional "WOW" factor on S2K.

Was the one on your M5 (by the way that car rocks!!!!) a stock part or was it something you added on aftermarket?
