liscense plate has a use
I've been planning to get the plugs for the front and take off the plate because the S2000 looks much better without the liscense plate, but I procrastinated and I'm glad.
A couple of days ago, on the freeway, going about 75, the SUV in front of me kicked up a whole piece of plywood. It flew up in the air about 5 feet off the ground, straight up, like a wall in front of me. I was on an overpass in the left lane with the guard rail only 3 or 4 feet away. The next lane had cars, so I grabbed the steering wheel tightly and drove straight into the plywood. Fortunately by the time I hit, the plywood was beginning to fall back down so it hit the front of the car instead of the windshield or my head. The plywood split into 3 pieces, one to the left, one toward the car at the right and one stuck on the front of the car. When I got off the freeway at the next exit, I pulled an approximately 2 by 3 foot 1/4 inch thick piece out from between the liscense plate and the radiator. The only damage was the liscense plate was bent and the plate holder was cracked. What a relief.

If a truck actually drops something(not just flinging rocks) and it damages your car are they liable or are you just screwed?
...but good luck getting compensation, especially if you can't get the person that dropped something to stop.
You insurance should cover it minus your deductible.
