Sup,

Need advice from anyone with LOJACK experience.

Is it worth the money?

I have LoJack on my vehicle. I think it cost me 795.00 installed. It gives me a little piece of mind. Hope I never see the day that I need to use it though

Yesterday my dealer offerred it for $695 installed - we are considering it. You can purchase it at any time - Lojack comes to you to install it - at least here in Colorado...

I got mine for $595 after some haggling. I thought that was retail?

I ask myself though, do I really want it back if someone took off in it?

Do a search on this. Theremay be some things you'd want to consider. From what I've been told, not all areas support this system. There isn't tracking in NH (someone correct me please if I'm way off here), and I live in MA. An intelligent thieve could take the car and drive it over the border in minutes.

Also, the old question of do you really want it back after being stolen arises. My own preference would be to have it gone for good and get another. Insurance will fix your body and anything aesthetic, but good luck determining performance damage which is why we own these machines in the first place. Of course you could get lucky, and have a thief who doesn't abuse the car (sarc.).

Also, my insurance recovery was only $40/year, which would take 20 years to recover, as opposed to the alarm which only takes about 3 years for cost recovery.

Contacted LoJack, no service in St. Louis.
Anyone have the Honda alarm system in the S2000?

$350~375 installed (my uncle ownes a used car dealership )

I do get the highest anit-theft discount that State Farm offers becuase I have it, and I guess it does give me more peace of mind.

I haven't had the car stolen yet (knock on wood) so I can't really say how effective it really is in recovering the car!.

Read T.O.-S2K's experience here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...ighlight=lojack He had a tracking system, and this will tell you what happened to his (stolen) car.

For other insights into the pros and cons of lojack, just do a search for "lojack". I think you'll get the answers you're looking for.
