Default Locked keys in car

Hey guys. Well I wasn't really thinking today and in a hurry, I unlocked my car with the remote, opened the passenger side door and tossed the keys in, then shut the door. I didnt remember that this car doesn't recognize the passenger side door as being unlocked, and so the car automatically locked itself within 30seconds. I know I should have a spare, but I dont. I will go get one cut at the dealer tomorrow. In the meantime, could someone tell me how to easily break in so i can get my keys back? I dont have any fancy tools.. and I realize we dont want a thread with open info on how to break into our cars, so PM me please. Ive been a member here for a long time. Thanks!

If your keys are sitting on the passenger seat, can you hook them with a coat hanger? Or push the "unlock" button on the remote with the coat hanger? Because both of those things would probably be easier than trying to hook the door lock without a slim jim.

Hmm, never thought of trying to hit the remote. Ill give it a shot, thanks! i did think about hooking them with a coat hanger because I think I could do that fairly easily.. although I dont know what Id do with them once I did. I dont think I can pry the window far enough back to get them out ( have alot of keys)

One lesson I learned is that the spare key does not open the trunk nor the center console. So be sure not to toss your keys in the trunk...

Wrong the valet key does not open the trunk or compartment, the spare key will open everything.

I guess you're screwed might as well get out the razor knife and slash the top.

~this trick only works if you have the keys in sight - coat hanger, push off the rubber trim on the convertible top

that should give you enough space to move the coat hanger to position it to grab the key.

Call a locksmith if you don't want to damage anything.

a little off topic, but is there an easy way to disable the automatic locking on our car?
