the s2k antenna is about as good as it gets. Why do you think everyone jacks them?

I ran one on my z too and it was better than the long stock z one.

I replaced mine with a shorter one...LOL and the reception is about the same

Evo 8-9's have a longer one that will fit, but I dont think the reception will be any better

Everyone jacks them because they LOOK better, not because they perform better.

My VW friends who bought them (they said they bought them...) even said their reception got worse compared to their original long VW ones.

I always thought the stock antennae had great reception. Never had a problem, but maybe that is due to the area I live.

The antennas used for the VW New Beetle, and for the VW Passat of a few years back are direct screw-on replacements, about twice the length of our S2000 antenna. Actually, I went the other way and bought an S2000 antenna for my 2001 Passat, because the Honda version looked much nicer. Reception was essentially unchanged. I bought my S2000 in 2002, and when I traded away the Passat I restored its original antenna and kept the S2000 one as a spare, which I still have.

I'm using an IS300 antenna, its about twice as long, but the width of it tapers down as you get to the end. It sounds a hair clearer than the stocker.
