Don't know how you did it. You had a helmet on ???
Woke up at 5am and flew from Chicago to Philly. Did all the paperwork and set off for the first time in my S in the early afternoon. Never test drove one, just bought it. Then I drove it 900 miles through the black of night and hours of a white knuckled pouring rain. I made it back to NW Chicago at 4am.
I was on such a high driving the Pennsylvania turnpike and the tunnels at redline it carried me all the way home...

ahhh yes...the PA turnpike....those tunnels are pretty fun, although an excellent place to get a ticket!
as for the other 300 mile of the PA turnpike....not so thrilling!
The turnpike is like heaven compared to slugging through northern Ohio then the pit of boredom hell called northern Indiana at night.
The last hundred miles before hitting Chicago was absolutely brutal. Then once you hit the Chicago lights from the south, the high came right back

When I brought my car home, I left Connecticut at 3 am and drove straight through, only stopping for gas. I arrived in Lexington, Ky around 6pm.
That was a long day-my radio was locked the entire time

Seattle to Detroit in 32 hours. The top and windows up the whole way.
Lesson: I did this route a few years back. Some place in South Dakota, I pulled the windows down to enjoying the drive. A June bug hit the driver side mirror. Most of it deflected to the side of my face. I was doing 90 mph. I will never put the windows or top down when driving in bug country.
