Longest roadtrip in an S?
Hey why don't you plan on hooking up with other S2Ki members on the way around?
That's what I'd plan on doing. See if anyone is willing to meet you while you pass thru cities and towns (not all the time obviously) as that will give you a chance to meet people and have some fun?!?!
Just a suggestion as when we get visitors from the S2Ki forum we try and meet them here in Dubai.

If you take interstates all the way, you're going to die of boredom. Random sideroads with a gps is always more exciting.
I drove roundtrip from tampa to San Antonio, TX and it wasn't to bad. if you like to gamble a stop in new orleans or bilioxi breaks the trip to FL up. I'm not sure there are any scenic drives(unless you count veiwing all the hurricane damage, which is unbelievable) heading east without going out of your way.
Try and do top-down as much as you can! I did Columbia, SC - Bellefontaine, OH and back (~1400 miles) and was top-down for all but 100 of them (pouring rain). Good times. You see a lot more when that pesky roof isn't in your way
I'd also recommend carrying a digitial camera and snapping random pictures. You'll be surprised how much you forget, and how little you appreciate some of the scenery until you're home. Some of my favorite pictures were just random shots ahead/out the side as I drove. I tried to get pictures of all the "Welcome to whateverstate" signs as I drove, but sometimes they're tough when you're doing 80 on the interstate. I plan on doing it again this summer, but doing non-interstate the whole way.
Hmm. How about this.
Houston -> Atlanta -> The Dragon -> Florida.
The via I-10: Florida -> Big Bend National Park and state highway 170 -> Ft Davis and the Ft Davis Mountains scenic loop and McDonald Observatory.
Then I-10 -> I-25 -> I-40 -> Petrified Forest National Park -> Meteor Crater -> Flagstaff.
Then Gran Canyon National Park -> Hoover Dam and Lake Mead -> Las Vegas.
Then Death Valley National Park -> Yosemite National Park.
Then San Franciso -> Napa/Sonoma wineries -> Pacific Coast Highway -> Redwood National Park -> Portland OR -> Mt St Helens -> Mt Rainier -> home to Seattle.
