it seems like coilovers are your answer. just get a set of teins or something that is pretty close to stock and not like ultra stiff. and you can lower/raise the car at whatever height you want.

Since I like the handling characteristics of the stock setup, but basically want a firmer ride.....

What if I just used stock MY03 springs with Koni Yellow dampers on maximum firmness all the time? I can keep the stock height for the sleeper look, but the ride would be firmer, and the handling limits possibly increased.

Would the Konis set on maximum damping feel stiffer than the stock shocks with stock springs? Would the suspension react faster over bumps and undulations?

I could go with the whole CR swap since it is stiffer than the stock MY03 setup, but I'm not sure I would like the understeer bias. At least with the Konis, I could keep the stock spring rates and the same front-rear bias as stock.

I'm looking for similar handling characteristics to stock but with a firmly damped ride. Would this setup give me this? Or would I be caught surprised?

After some research, I'm leaning towards the OTS Koni Yellows. This way, I can get the 0.5" drop that I want (setting the spring on the lower perch) and keep the handling characteristics close to stock, using the stock springs, all while getting a firmer feel out of the suspension.

The only questions are...

2. Should I use the MY03 springs that I'm used to? And if so, should I get brand new springs or just use my old ones? The car is over 5 years old with close to 120k miles on it, so I'm sure my springs have metal fatigue.

OR...

2. Get some MY00-01 rear springs for all 4 corners (291 lb/in/in) and use them with the Konis? I've read some people on this forum doing this, but wanna find more information on this setup first, before diving in. When those posts were written, the CR was not produced yet, so I suppose using the CR front springs all around (375 lb/in/in) with the Konis could be a possibility. Since the MY03 rates are 240/230 (which has almost no front-rear bias), perhaps the other 2 options would be close to what I'm used to (only stiffer) since they would be equal front-rear.

What do you think?
