Default Looking for an aftermarket battery hold down.

Like the title says. The stock battery hold down bracket is losing its paint. Can anyone suggest an aftermarket piece that can replace it?

If you have any pics of yours, please post them if its not too much trouble.

I found one by Comptech on S2k marketplace but there are no good pictures of the product there.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't find one to buy that you like you can alway fab one from some aluminum stock (Home Depot):

Or you can buy a replacement OEM one for a couple bucks.

A battery hold-down loses its paint because battery acid has gotten on it. You first job is to find out how that happened and keep it from happening again.

I used a wire brush to take all the plastic off the stock hold down, then polished, etched, primed, and painted it.

Thanks for all the replies. These are all good ideas from the aluminum stock, hand crafted one to the brushed stock one.

I will check out the Muz unit. I did find a good pic of the Comptech on the Comptech site and it looks better than I thought.

In my case, I believe the paint cracked because I over-tightened the bolts that hold it on.

This happened when I removed the battery in order to run some 2 ga. power cable through the firewall. When I re-installed the battery, I think I must have over-tightened the bolts and this scraped the paint off.

I just installed some JL Audio battery connectors. I highly a nice set of connectors. They really "do up" that area of the engine bay (like TRj-S2K's). But now my battery bracket looks bad and I need something nice to go with the JL battery connectors.

I used these. XA-PBTC-1/0 You can see them here: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_connect...l.php?cat_id=10

You just need a piece of AL stock. Cut it to size, drill a couple holes, polish it so it's shiney and you're done. Very easy piece to make and it will never rust.
