I currently own a 5 speed 2001 Honda Prelude: Electron Blue, nicely modded for appearance and suspension only, my drivetrain is still under factory warranty and the Prelude only has 40K on it, I could sell it easily for $16K, pay off and make a $2,000 profit, probably more like $4,000 if I sell mods separately. I'm a college graduate, 24 years old. I'm an Environmental Engineer Consultant for a Water treatment company in Northern Virginia.

I have always loved the S2K and planned to get one as soon as I could but I only have $20,000 buying price to work with.

I've always owned FWD Hondas, It's time for RWD and the Convertible top, 6 gears, HID headlights, Slick handling is an added bonus.

interestingly enough my brother works for a High end used car dealer and he assures me that he can find me a 2002 Mint S2K for under $20,000 in the dark silver color with black interior that I want. I'll get auction Price that his dealership pays so that's how I can manage this deal.

I have heard a lot about the 2002's being better than 00 and 01 due to 4 oil jets instead of 2 in the block for lubrication of the back of the pistons and the fact that the 02's have a glass rear window which I want.

According to Geico I should pay about the same insurance as I do on the 2001 Prelude and being that I'll have a $4K downpayment on the S2k my monthly payments will be lower than they are now on my Prelude ($400) if I find one for under $20K which my bro assures me we can.

I've got a friend that goes to the auction in Manheim, PA and he's never told me about that much of a deal on the 02-03 cars. Maybe if you find a high mileage vehicle.. but still...

To me the fact that its a convertible and has HIDs is the added bonus... the performance is the main entree
