I personally wouldn't touch it. Then again, I don't like buying someone else's project. Pat yourself on the back. You paid off your first three years of college, something many people can't do. Treat yourself to something nicer and don't settle just because it's cheaper.

I know this is an s2k forum, but how do you feel s2kers feel about RSX Type-S? Similar high revving engine, maybe a bit better of a DD? Unfortunately you can't beat the feeling of convertible s2k awesomeness...

Under 10K you are basically looking at an S2k beater. Expect a high mileage, abused AP1 with lots of "tasteful" mods and a beat up interior. But these cars are really tough, and with a smart purchase and a little investment, you could probably turn one into a reliable daily driver. But like another person said above, moving into the 10-12k range will improve what you get a lot.

The S2k is a horrible DD in my opinion, but when you are 20 years, that is probably irrelevant. Good luck!

I have an '06 RSX-S as my DD. It's not as fun as the S2000 but for me it's a much better daily. There is more steering feel thanks to the hydraulic rack but it's quite heavy.

Lots of cargo room due to it being a hatch with fold-down back seats.

Even though it's the same weight and a similar size to the S2000, it feels bigger and heavier. That definitely has something to do with the lower fun factor, but the engine still loves to rev.

The cabin feels positively airy compared to the S2000.

Finally, the RSX-S is known as a rattle trap, but anyone with an S2000 will be used to that, and it's ultimately a reliable car.

If I had to pick a new daily now, I'd probably go with a Mazda 3 hatch.
