looking at hail damaged s2000
It's an insurance salvaged S2000, the trunk and hood are heavily dimpled and there are some dimples on the doors and fenders as well. The car drives fine but the insurance company totaled it marking hail damage as the reason.
It's a '04 and they are asking 12000, I figure that it's a savings of about 3-4k off a similar miles clean titled vehicle, what do you'll think?

Top is fine, I don't have pictures, the car is located at a salvage yard right now and basically it's a $12k insurance buyback. I would say the majority of the damage is to the hood and trunk lid, and I'll need to replace the windshield as well but all those can be replaced easily, but how difficult would it be for me to resell it down the line. It has 48k miles on it.

Check out "Paintless dent repair" before you replace any panels. You can do most of the dent repairs yourself with just a block of dry ice.

in my opinion, if you EVER plan on selling a vehicle, don't buy one with a salvaged title. if you think you'll keep it forever, or plan on making it a track/show queen, then go for it. but that's just my opinion. i would never want the hassle of trying to sell a salvaged vehicle.

). My friend is looking for an S2000 that will be getting a roll cage for the track, and this is exactly the kind of deal he is looking for!
