Default looking for input from owners of red Muz lux. mats or black regular mats.

Hey everyone. I have done a search and there's plenty of posts on this. Most of the posts, unfortunately, don't seem to give me the info. that I am looking for. Your help (even a quick pm if you don't want to post) would be greatly appreciated.

I have a silver/red MY2001. Unfortunately, my co-pilot and fiancee is short like me. She likes to rest her feet on the cross brace of the passenger side and I noticed this weekend that the cheap ass carpeting is already wearing. DOH!

I have been thinking of getting Muz's floor mats for a while (mostly just for the looks and the reported benefits of not having them slip like my drivers side does) but now I think I have no choice. I have a Muz mat for my rear window and I am very pleased with that. Great piece and it really seems to work.

So.. here's my questions. As I said before, I have the red interior. I would prefer to keep the red mats, but... I gather that red is not available in the "base" mats. I would need to get the luxury mats. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I came across a post or two that lead me to believe that the red luxury mats do not match the color of the red interior. It seems the mats are a bit brighter.

Can anyone with a red interior and these mats confirm or deny that for me?

As a fall back, I am considering the black mats with red trim. Having seen the pictures that white rocket posted of his car I am nearly convinced. I have a red leather console cover and black leather shift boot from Rick Hesel and the combo. looks pretty good.

My question is this. How black are the black mats? Whiterocket has the luxury mats and his matts appear very black and look to be a great match. He has been kind enough to verify.

I am asking all of you because my Muz mat isn't that black. It is more charcoal but it doesn't really bother me because I never see it (my top is never up except to wash the car). I am wondering if the grey/charcoal effect is limited to the "base" mats. I know Muz offers a true charcoal mat in base, and that's not what I am looking for.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to hear from lots of you. I am off to Scottsdale, AZ for a few stookless days of business. Not looking forward to the heat but I may stop in and see RM Racing's headquarters while I am there. If I make it, I will give you all a full report.

Have you checked this post by AusS2000: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...hlight=red+mats

He states that the red is not an exact match. I have the black/black mats and they are really very BLACK.

I have a silver/red and got Black with Red trim mats. They are BLACK. I think that they look verry good. They kinda tone down the all red look a bit - which I like. Make sure you get the grommet/eyelet and the rubber heal area thingy on the drivers side. I also got the S2000 logo on the crossbar. I am very happy with them. My son (who also puts his feet on the cross bar) has a great time with my and now the carpet dosen't look worn out.

I have Silver/Black car. My mats are black, red piping, red logos, heel mat, NO grommets. These things are BLACK! In fact, they are a bit blacker than the stock black carpets. Mine don't slip or migrate on me but it seems this depends on how you get in or out of the car and how you position your feet. They didn't look like much when I took them out of the package but now that I've got them in the car and have used them for a while, I'm not disappointed at all.

After looking at the pictures, I'm sure I would not want the Muz red; the two different shades don't do it for me. However, like many of you I would like some crossbar protection since everyone seems to wipe the feet clean there -- I've got oil stains, etc. On the other hand, I really like the red floor mats that came with my 2001, and I'm sick of black mats/carpeting... it's in all my other cars.

Suggestion = Design a black carpet strip that just covers the crossbar. Goes with the silver/red/black theme and protects and will not show the dirt/oil from passengers.
