looking at a MY02 Silver
My situation quickly is I've been looking in to the s2k for a long time, I am using a friend who is a dealer to buy the car from a dealer-only auction. He is a good guy who will stand behind the car, so he is very picky about getting one.
One thing he is big on is that he wants the car to be as close to stock as possible. Well there is a MY02 silver with 53k miles on it in decent condition I could get for a bit cheaper which would be nice, but it has a few upgrades to it that my friend isn't a big fan of. It has a different intake, but the biggest thing is the tires. He claims if I got this one, which he approves of, he would want to spend 1,000$ afterwords to return the wheels to stock, but that didn't strike me as something necessary as I'm in love with the specs and don't care for things like colour or other cosmetic changes to the vehicle.
Anyway, here are the specs for the tires, or at least all I can get online:
Tire Tread Depth Brand Size
Left Front: 8/32" GENERIC 225/40ZR18
Left Rear: 6/32" GENERIC 255/35ZR18
Right Front:8/32" GENERIC 225/40ZR18
Right Rear:6/32" GENERIC 255/35ZR18
Spare: 0/32"
Tire Condition: Average
Wheels: Chrome
(NF)18inCHROME WHEELS, ALT.INTAKE BLACK INT +TOP
I know its probably not enough information to identify the tires, I tried Googling it, but I still would like to know what this would actually change for the car that isn't cosmetic and would cause someone (granted who is big on stock) to want to spend the money to change them specifically.
Thanks for reading!

I never liked chrome wheels on the S2K but then again it's what ever you like. 18'' chrome wheels are super heavy so I would agree with your friend in trying to go back to stock. Those heavy @ss rims will change the whole dynamic of the S2k...IMO the AP2 V1 rims are the sickest OEM rims you can get. You may have better luck trying in the wheels are tires forum about trying to find the tire specs...
Good Luck,

Lu Dawg is right that 18" are very heavy and slow down a low torque car like the s2k.
If you are going to replace the wheels, I wouldn't recommend going back to the stock 16" rims though. It is very tough to find good performance tires in the best size for an ap1 now days...17" rims will offer a much larger selection of really awesome tires.
