Default looking to purchase a s2000

Hi everyone,

First post here on S2ki. I've been a long-time member of Supraforums, ClubLexus, and NSXPrime. I'm looking forward to learning more about these cars.

I've been looking for a replacement for my daily driver Civic. I'm looking for a daily driver, but most likely I will keep the miles low (two or three days a week commute, will keep the Civic for the rest).

I found a 2006 S2000 with 26k miles on it for $22,000. Is this a good deal? It has the balance of the factory warranty.

People tell me that this is a terrible idea, since the S2000 is not a practical car. The truth is, I had a deposit on a 2008 Civic Si, but figured for the same price, I can get something that's a lot more fun to drive, has better resale, and is made in Japan. The color is my second choice, but it's still nice.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
-Brian.

Then why are you here?

Option #1: Ask Jesus
Option #2: Ask miss Cleo
Option #3: Refer back to option #1 & 2.

Sounds pretty good to me. I am just about to buy one also.
Check KBB.com and NADA to see what the approximate value is. 22k seems pretty damn cheap for an 06. At least from my experience with all the searching I have been doing for the one I buy.

That's a damn good price if you ask me. Where are you located? This forum has regional sub-forum that you could post and see if some fellow members could come out with you to check the car out. Experienced members know certain things to watch out for.

You have made a good decision on getting the S instead of the Civic Si. Good luck!

It's not that I say it's impractical - my friends tell me so. I live in NJ so we get a decent amount of snow during the winters. Other than that, I don't see how it could be a problem. I have an old Civic for the bad days.

Thanks everyone else for the suggestions.

-Brian.

No ill-intentions behind my post. I was just reiterating my first post in response to yours. You misunderstood my post.

Thats a hell of a deal over in the southeast region...I'm looking to buy as well. I'd jump on that provided that it has a clean record and no mechanical issues.

That's a good price, barring any other issues.

Seems like a fine price. Where in NJ are you?
