Default Loose object in the dash airvent?

I had my top replaced beacuse of a tear (usual spot) and the dash replaced due to pox. Both under warranty. After the repair I was finding pieces of drilled out rivets for days. There were some issues with each and I had to take the car back several times. They would fix one issue and create another. Now a few months later I am hearing what sounds like a rolling BB in the dashboard air vent when I go around turns aggressively. My gut feeling is there is a piece of rivet in there. Is there an easy way to open that area up without removing the dash? If not, I can live with it. Either drive top down so I do not hear it or take the corners slower

The panel in front of the driver's vents is easy to remove:

Somewhere in the softtop replacement DIY there is something about having parts rolling around in the softtop after replacement and how to get them out. Are you sure the noise is coming from the dash?

Sorry, I should have been more specific about which vent. The vent I am talking about is the defroster vent - that is where the sound seems to be coming from. I will check the DIY you mentioned

OMG!!! I am in your debt Dammitjim. Pulled the caps off. Blew compressed air in and 2 rivets came out. Test drove the car and no more noise. I guess the sound was bouncing off the dash - I was sure it was something in the dash! Now I know why the sound went away with the top down. I thought it was just the wind noise over powering the rolling sound.

This site is the best. Last week I fixed the loose power port thanks to a DIY fix.

I am a happy camper!!!
