thats you problem right there. our cars have an learning type computer. if you fart around town and never exercise the car, it will tune itself so. reset the ecu and then take the car out and really drive the hell out of it. your not going to hurt it in anyway.

how do you reset the ecu? anyone else done this?

pop the hood, undo the neg battery cable. go have a beer, then come back and hook it back up. then take the car out, and really drive it. as many 9k shifts as you can, various speeds.

see if that helps.

Or just pull the back up fuse for about 1/2 minute. If you disconnect the battery you take a chance of losing your crappy radio if you don't have the code.
