Glad you are okay. It's just stuff (well insured and easily replaced), and hopefully the new car gives you more good times.

Update - Work has already begun, Picked the car up in NY on Thursday and drove it back to MD. Since then I have swapped Suspension, Exhuast(about to go do it a 2nd time...), All my audio stuff, Removed the Clutch Delay Valve, and Installed my Intake. Feels good to be back in an S2000 and very happy it's GPW this time.

Crappy phone shot after I did my alignment at work.

Yey. I may make a build thread for this one.

You lucked out. I always wanted a gpw with black red or tan interior.

I dont wish to have to wreck to get one but if it happens, I'll damn sure b looking!!

Hard read!

I do think there is one S2000 lesson to be had here though. Top down all the time can backfire! chances are if you had the top up you would have been driving slower and may have avoided the accident. I've driven top down when it started to rain before and being close to my destination was driving faster than I should have in an attempt to get there before I got soaked...in hindsight it would have been much better to just stop on the shoulder before the rain got heavy and put the top up.

Rain has always scared me with the S2000...I generally don't drive it on days that have over a 50% chance of rain...just not worth the risk when I have a perfectly good beater car in the driveway. I think we owe it to our S2000's to leave them safe at home in unfavorable weather. You wouldn't ride your motorcycle when there is a high chance of thunderstorms or a blizzard, why take the risk with a car like the S2000?

Congrats on the AP2 purchase...make it your own!

I recall driving back from Alabama (traveling to detroit area) with my recently purchased 2003 AP1 around Father's Day 2011. Joplin had just been destroyed and another hurricane was threatening the area. Huge storms were hitting Atlanta region. So off i go on a beautiful sunny day (no rain...yet), only to hit the edges of that storm cell- wind and rain, dogs and cats coming down...in my new-to-me S...with nearly worn crap fuzion rear tires...driving like grandma...being passed by coeds in their scions.

after 1000 miles, and nearly 800 miles of it rain...i made it home.

Lesson here...respect the S in the rain. sorry for your loss.

later
darcy

p.s. New star specs went on one week later.
