Default lost control

yes it finally happend

i was turning left onto another street (both are pretty busy streets) the light just turned yellow and i have space to take my turn, im in 2nd gear and 1-4 way in my turn when another car comes at me quick, i stomp on it to get by and then vtec kicks in and now im doing a really ameture drift, a** end going right front end going left.. so i try correcting my "turn" and not noticing i am still on the gas. i overcorrect and now a** end is to the left and gaining momentum.. i become completly backwards now.. and jump the curb, and end up 90 degrees to the road (car nose facing road in some guy's lawn) as car also had knocked over garbage cans (thank god they wernt metal)
scared shateless of my car i get out and see the damages.... dirt, mud, and long scuff as well as a fast beating heart...
i pick up the garbage, check over my car again.. and then drive off

#1 new problem discovered
A.- vtec and cornering in city streets dont really mix
B.- i discovered i cant handle my F****ng car like this
C.- i now know what looking like an a** ho** feels
#2 whilst driving normally afterwards i notice my car is driving straight but my steering whell isnt soooo.... horizontal as it normally was
#3. while driving home from work i decided to check my steering problem again by letting go of the wheel (no one was around) and seeing what happens
- my car seems to slowly make its way into the right lane (very slowly) without me actually steering to it

what i gatta do now

#1. run over my warranty info
#2 see if im any way covered by it
#3 take my ass to a honda dealership
#4 and see what the dumb f*** i did to my car

and finnally get it taken care of

p.s. #5 any suggestions on what actually is wrong... now?
and if it is really serious .. should i even be driving it like this?
even if it isnt so much driving being done?
also any wild guesses on how much ill be in the hole for this one?
and also what else i should be watching out for before i take it to the dealership?

this is the very first time i lost control of a car, and very first time i was in a car that lost control. and also the very first time i scared the bastard out of my self and my car (car more................. and also saw my car insurance bill flash before my eyes thinking it was all over)

Well, I won't be a prick like usual when the new member "I wrecked thread" arises.

Because your attitude is good and you're looking for help, rather than some of the other posts that are looking to blame something other then their driving ability.

#1: Respect the S.
#2: Know where your VTEC point is.
#3: No STOMPING. Unlike all the video games and B-movies, the goal is LESS drama. Think smooooooth when you drive.

#4: Warranty doesn't cover accidents
#5: Not necessary to go to Honda Dealership if they're not square shooters.
#6: All you may have done is knocked your alignment out of whack = <$100
#7: Worst case, some bent control arms or broken suspension pieces. However, if you're driving without "thumping" or gross visual deformity, it's likely okay.
#8: It'll buff right out!

haha yeah, i was immediatly at my scuff mark at my work parking lot, it came off but now i haveto wait for a sunny day to take care of it all the way

absolutely no thumping and body is still mint
beside dirt, rain, remaining scuff, and spider webbing deformity on the clear coat

i honestly was feeling a little big headed thinking because the car handles so well almost everywhere (normal driving) that it may be the same when..... hahah yeah right. ill admit i dont really know this cars capabilities because i never intentionally tested them out. as well as MY own abilities to control it..
ill accept any criticism guys, dont hold back

anyway, should i at least get it into the dealership to check it out? or even perform the alignment at the dealership?

thank you so much for the extremely quick reply !

(late to notice)
ummm CKit? did you mean something along the lines of dog tracking? as in "gross visual deformity"?

In turns try not to shift the weight of the car such as braking or stomping on the gas. Keep it constant and even in vtec in a hard turn you will barely break the rear end if you know what you are doing. Good thing it didn't turn out worst like a lot of the cases, so consider yourself lucky.

take a driving school at local track event, it'll make you a better driver if you are willing to learn.

I agree. I think it could have been a lot worse. I would count your blessings and get your car fixed. Then work on your driving skills. You can take classes or lessons at the track or you can just practice. Start going to some auto cross events.
