Just wondering if it is normal to be able to hear the cat ticking. I can hear it with the top down while stopping at the light and it's quite noticeable. Doesn

has anyone experienced this sound on their S? I assume that it is the catalytic converter ticking...sound is coming from somewhere in the exhaust.

 

Thats very odd, noramlyy you can here it ticking when you shut down the car but with the engine noise ans outside traffic I would look around for another reason, check you hangers and the like they may be acting up.

 

My 2001 did this when new...I don't notice it anymore.

That may be because the HKS drowns it out.

 

sounds normal to me, the car pings at idle and also when you turn off your car, sounds almost like your car needs more octane. but its just the CAT expanding i guess.

 

Hmm, funny topic title. I immediatly thought of the ticking crocodile that scared the crap out of Captain Hook in Peter Pan. Hehe, better take that cat to the vet
