Default This lousy weather is costing me money

Exactly one week ago today I picked up my new '04 S2000. I drove it straight home from the dealer, pulled it into my garage, and it has sat there ever since.

We have had three days of snow/ice since then and the temp has not hit 30*F. The current wind chill is 1*F. We are expecting another snow/ice storm on Monday night, and again on Friday, so it looks like the S might not move for a while.

Since I can't drive it I figure I may as well start to tinker with it. I have ordered a set of JDM clear side markers, and a Cusco front STB. Once these arrive, I'll install them, and if the weather is still lousy, I'll probably order more stuff. I can't afford this stupid weather. I want to DRIVE my car.

For all you lucky people out there in warmer climates, hit the VTEC once for me! I'll see you in the Spring.

I'm also in PA and can attest to the terrible weather. Fortunately for me I invested in some Blizzaks, and since then the difference is unbelievable. I would almost venture to say that the Blizzaks make my S2k extremely driveable even in adverse conditions. I do rack up a hell of a bill washing my car 2-3 times per week though.

There's a simple solution......move to a warmer location!

Although it did get cold down here last week.......low 50's.
Brrrrrrrrrrr........
(In case you don't know, that qualifies as "freezing" to South Floridians!)

When I ordered my car, delivery was estimated to be about 2 weeks. After one week, it was confirmed that the car was on a transport and would arrive in one week. I immediately went out, put a some snow tires on hold. As soon as my car came, I had the snow tires put on. One week after that, winter hit with all its full fury. If you chose to not drive your car on account of weather, then it should not be a waste of money. It's simply part of the cost of ownership.

XViper - are you the one we need to thank for those "Alberta clippers" that have clobbered us for weeks? May I speak for everyone here in saying &*^%k You very much!

God, MiniF1, this is my story too - I have just 400 miles since December 18th! I have not even been into VTEC territory yet, but I have bought hundreds of dollars of specialized tools, an OBDII scanner, and am getting together a GB for Mugen stuff (interested? PM me). This is not as sick as my Cobra though - I ordered that in April, 2002, and did not get the car until July 2002. By then I had over $5k in go fast parts, and the first night I had the car, I stayed up until 3 a.m. bolting in a complete (headers back) MagnaFlow exhaust, Amazon Racing intake and performance chip, etc. The next day we welded in subframe connectors.

Crazy, isn't it?

I can't wait for that first warm April day = hell, my top boot is still wrapped in plastic for cryin out loud!

I'm just under a grand on the clock, and have had it since November 22nd. The more it just sits there the more I keep spending on it. I honestly believe if it was warm out and I was out driving her, I wouldn't have the time to sit behind my computer when I'm bored and conjure up new ways to spend money on this car.

Even though the top has only been down twice, and it's been sitting idle for a month or so, I'm still glad I got her.
