Love the car, but hating what is going on with it.

The passenger seat squeeks when someone sits in it and rattles when nobody sits in it.
...not occupied try inserting the passenger seat belt buckle into the plastic shoulder guide - when left loose the buckle tends to rattle against the door plastic...
I went further and took off all plastic pieces around the seats. Where they contacts with/on chassy I glued thin soft rag on steel. Where plastic pieces contacts eachother I put a small amount of putty (like bubble gum) between. I am very satisfied with this mod.
Now I have to ˝fix˝ the top.

Problems:
At 2000 rpm in every gear when i accelerate their is a spike/ sudden lack of power for a split second and then it accelerates smoothly, it is driving me nuts.

I know that most of these guys are saying that you should not lug the car to that low of an rpm...which is true for the most part, but it could also be attributed to the new drive-by-wire that the MY06's are now sporting. Just a thought. I'm not that familiar with the 06's, but that would be my guess. Good luck.
i can address the seat rattling:
When no one is in it, the buckle (latch) is rattling against the door sill. Slide the buckle all the way up the belt so that it touches the belt guide attached to the seat.
When you have a passenger, its proably the belt rubbing against the seat near the same belt guide. Many members fixed this by getting a peice of felt or the 'soft' side of a velcro strip and sticking it to the seat where it rubs.
Hope this helps!

I don't have any issues at all with my 06, in fact, it's the first new car I've haven't had to take back to the dealer to correct something. Very tight and rattle/squeak free, no bogging or throttle lag.
Tried to duplicate the 2000 rpm bogging issue at lunch, and frankly, found that even during very casual acceleration, and shifting at what I felt was the earliest point, the rpm's never got that low.

to counter this car with all of its issues...my car has 22,000miles on it and has never been back to the dealer with any issues of any kind, no oil use and no rattles other than the usual ones you get with an open top car. if you are having what you consider to be problems then you need to go back to the dealer and deal with them.
two of my other cars have throttle by wire and i have no issues with that at all...i have a tl with a 6 speed with no hesitation issues and an automatic volvo that is as smooth as glass. so throttle by wire is not a problem per se in my book.
