Lowering the 2k
There is a guy here in tacoma who owns a popular import performance shop, he just purchased an 03' s2k and he was telling me that he replaced the stock springs with tanabe springs that gave him a one inch drop, he combined this with a wider tire combination and a front strut bar and he said that the cornering ability of the car has greatly improved.
A couple months ago i was reading in.......sport compact car magazine online and they had a car w/ suspension mods, that couldn't run the cones as fast as a stock s2k.
so, my question is does anyone here regret lowering the s2k, and has the cornering of your car improved enough to make this a worthwile mod.
thanks.

i'm happy with my setup....i got tein flex and a front lower cusco u brace.... and it feels great. i'm also dropped about 2.5+ inches....and a little less then 5 inches clearance in the front and sides...
A front shock tower bar is not going to do much for the S 2000. There is already a much larger brace under the factory airbox. A poorly set up suspension isn't going to give an improvement either. Suspension tuning should be well thought out and tuned on a track for maximum effectiveness.
Simple fact unless you're spending 2k+ you're not going to improve performance over stock. Most of people's performance improvement they 'feel' is placebo. Wider tires/difference rubber could improve performance but it depends.
The cheapest method to improve performance(generally), is get an alignment done...you'll be suprised at how much of a difference it makes...
FYI I am lowered lightly(about an inch) on KW V3.

"CONFIRM!!!"
Mine is lowered on one of the popular brand of spring here and everything is mess up since. The only good thing is the look, IMO, but other than that like most people (especially those who track) will tell you, you can't do better than stock without spending more than 2k.
I did alignment 4 times in the past 3,000 miles, and still doesn't feel right. it is, by far, the most regretful thing I've ever done to my car. Don't do it, bud'.., you've been warned!

i dropped my car an inch with tein s-techs and well my daily drive home is up a mountain and there is a certain turn where i always play around at, powering out where the rear comes out and so on. after i put the springs in the rear comes out less and i feel that i am doing a faster slide out of the turn. plus there is the better feeling of less roll.
