Default Lowering?

It seems that most S owners who decide to lower their cars, lower at least an inch or more. Has anyone lowered their car a 1/2in. or maybe 3/4in.? I know the effect would be less dramatic but wouldn't it be more practical?
If anyone here has lowered their car less than an inch, what is your impression of this relative minor mod?
It seems to me that this would yield a slight visual improvement and at the same time avoid many of the negatives associated with extremely lowered street driven cars.

its been my understanding that anything more than 1in results in negative performance unless more mods are done to balance the agressive drop. an inch or less is okay, it puts less stress on components, and looks a lil bit better.

Lowering the car 1" is fine for city driving.

Tein S-tech's are a nice clean 1' drop and does not effect the camber much at all

H&R springs lower it .75" front and .6" rear. Nice ride quality too.
