Default Lowering mess up stock shocks overtime?

Does using high quality lowering springs mess up your stock shocks over a given period of time?

I would worry more about how low you plan on going with OEM shocks. The OEM shocks were meant for OEM springs. That's not to say you can't get away with it, but only for a short while as your shocks will start to softened up, and eventually no good.

I agree with any lowering springs you'll shorten the stock shocks life, but the lower you are the faster it'll go....

Abso @#%* lutely!!!

I've been on a "JDM" lower springs for a year, and right now, it's at the point where I feel dampening got a little softer than before.

To me, it doesn't make the car go faster. I'm actually much slower than before since I have to watchout for any dips and holes. The roads, the curves I used to take at curtain speed, I got to slow down 'cause it too bumpy. Heck!, so many turns and roads that I can drive faster with my Civic than my S.

Roads are not perfect, they never will. While lowering makes it look good, handling is the most important thing that I bought this car for.

Many have warned me before, I just got to learn the hard way..

And it has nothing to do with the QUALITY of the springs.!!!

I don't agree at all. Lower does not necessarily mean faster. The car was designed to operate at a certain ride height and changing that drastically will bring about other changes. Suspension geometry is a finicky thing, don't assume that lower = better.

I think this may be true. I have Eibach Pro-kit over OEM shocks and when I hit large dips, a horendous noise from mostly the rear happens. It's clear the stock shocks aren't able to compensate. I plan to ride them out though until I notice a significant decrease in handling. I will probably go yellow Koni's or coilovers at that point.

Right now, minus the huge dips in the road, I absolutely love the springs!
