very good idea

Problem is,nobody seems to know "shitz" about springs!

Most will answer,go with "XYZ"coilover,much better set-up;you bet !!!
Or I got those springs "racers ABC" THE BEST(but can't explain why)

But springs ???
I guess we will have to learn by trial and error.

replying to ol' dood's post ... definitely right

Before I sold my previous car (a BB6 Prelude SH), had a race up a mountain against another lowered lude (not 100% scientific, but it was good enough to make a point). I had stock suspension (shocks/springs), an AEM CAI, and pulley, and strut bars, nothing else ... the other ride had around same mods and exhaust. My stock setup simply left him far behind when going around some winding roads in a local ski mountain (don't know how to quantify it, maybe around a 15-20 second difference on a 3km road? I might be off ... but it was definitely noticeable), mind you that he was a good driver. But the limits have definitely been lowered as a result of the suspension modification (I believe he had springs only and possibly aftermarket shocks, but not coilover setup for sure). We switched cars and he agreed that the stock setup does handle better (and I drove his car as well, it's definitely more powerful, but had trouble attacking corners like mine with stock setup).

And with the S, I would imagine it's even harder to improve the handling as it already does a good job "out-of-the-box" per se ...

for me, being on comptech springs, did make the car lower, but it was harder to handle for me, b/c it was very bumpy. With no extra dampening from being lower, you did feel very close to the road, but that also meant, you were going to feel everything in the road. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Nothing worse than taking a corner fast, and have the steering wheel pull the opposite direction so you ahve to fight it more. on coilovers, since it dampens much of that "shock" I feel I have much better control and less of a chance to lose control of the car.

this is just *MY* interpretation to how it all feels...I'm not track fiend, so there ya go.

My .02: Lower the car if you're a boulevard cruiser. Otherwise leave it alone, or in the twisties you'll be using your front strakes like curb feelers.
