Default lowering springs without shocks is bad?

i read something on the forum the other day.. that if u put lowering springs..u should get some new shocks with it?

so just lowering spring by itself is not good??

and also, if u have coilover, u have to get all the aligning and adjusting done in order for it to be effective?

Anytime you change the height of the car you will want to get an alignment. Wether it be by coil-over kit or just springs. If you lower the vehicle you don't always have to get different shocks. I am running Espilir springs with no problems. There is a possibility however that if you go to low with the drop that you could bottom out the shocks. Hope this helps. There is one time though that you might want to get new shocks and that is if you have an older car and the shocks are bad. If they are bad they will not support the car properly and you will bottom out the shocks and possible damage to under the car may occur.

^ You'll be fine. The shocks will just wear faster, and you'll need to splurge for those coilovers in a year or two instead of three.

Yeah, its really a matter of having to do the same labor over again when the stock struts eventually wear out. I've been milking my OEM struts on Eibach springs for over 2 years. The ride quality is good enough for the street, just not for the track.

I'll have to break down and get some Konis soon......and do the same labor job over again.

And like was said above.....always get an alignment. Wait a week or so to let the car settle, then go get it done (or eat up your tires!!).

My car is 5 years old and i'm lowered on stock shocks. I would say the stock shocks on our cars are pretty good. I lowered my accord on stock shocks and they went out in about 6 months.

Mine is lowered on KG/MM's about 3inch now for 2 years I've had it and about a year from the other owner. Seems fine to me, I event auto-x and the suspension feels great.

I only have 43,000km on the car though.
