Default Lubricant for Tein Coilovers

I just recently traded coilovers with another member on the board. As I was reading the installation manual for the Tein RA coilovers, they recommend a lubricant to place on the threads on the coilovers to prevent dirt build up and sticking locking rings.

Well, when I tried to adjust the height on the used coilovers I could not get them unlocked. I just did two installs/uninstalls, so i may have not had enough muscle to break the locking rings loose but I think that it is stuck together from not being adjusted in a long time.

So, does anyone know what kind of lubrication Tein recommends to use on their coilovers to help with the non-sticking locking rings? I'm afraid to just use something like WD-40 or any other product since I don't know if it will hurt the coilover... if no one knows i guess i can always call Tein USA sometime and ask them.

Thanks

I would use WD-40 or liquid wrench to clean off the dirt/grime from the threads of the coilover now. After you have cleaned the threads, use some anti-seize on the threads so that they won't seize next time. I believe some lithium grease would also do. Either of those lubes would not do any harm on the coil-overs except attract more dirt on the coilovers.
