If this dude thinks he's getting a pair of snowboards or skis in/on a convertible conveniently, he must be talking about some other kind of buds...

Siepel, what kind of rack is that?

I've been looking for something like that to carry extra tires to the racetrack. Looks like yours could work if they're tied down properly.

Now I feel small for posting disparaging remarks (I TRIED to delete them, Mr. Moderator) *tail between legs* b/c using the rack to get race tires to the track isn't a bad idea at all. I wonder, however, if the rack and/or trunk could handle the weight of tires and/or rims?

No way in hell that I would put a set of wheels and tires on that or any other luggage rack. Too much weight. Some have built cool little trailers that they pull their track gear with. I would rather pull a small trailer than have any cargo rack.

I remember doing a search on this and remember this guy saying that he fit a 164 in the passenger side with the top down... That's crazy..

I attach my skis to my hitch mounted bike rack to go to the airport if I have a passenger. Otherwise, they fit in the passenger seat with the top down (170 cm).

I've also seen cargo racks for use with hitches (even 1 1/4") but I do not imagine they could carry more than 100 lbs.
