I've been trying to decide what I wanted to do with this mod for a long time. Keep my stock height screen and get it etched? Get the 7/8th taller screen with etching, or go with a frosted sticker.

I went with the 7/8th screen with the etched "S2000" logo from Macgyver.

Click Here to have MacGyver do this for you.

I've seen a few projects such as computer cases that were actually etched and some with the frosted stickers.

In person, I think the real etching gives a more surreal look.

Here is one angle that shows this a little - almost looking crystalized:

The "etched" to me, looks more on the lines of an ice sculpture lit up, which I haven't really seen that effect with the sticker. This is really hard to explain, and I think only one would notice this in person.

For now, the only wires I ran to hook it up were from the control box to the driver door sill. I tapped the parking/license plate wire for power, (unit turns on when parking lights come on, and also flashes screen with remote locking/unlocking), and tapped the brake light wire to light the screen RED when braking. I didn't add any switches yet.

I mounted the control box here with velcro:
Putting the control box here - lets me UNPLUG the black phone cord to FULLY DISABLE THE UNIT anytime I want.

I drilled a small hole in the far rear corner for the grey power wire and fished it back behind the driver panel where I also grounded the unit.

Now, one thing I didn't like was I couldn't change the windscreen colors without a screwdriver to put in the holes. It sure would be nice to have some knobs to show this thing off!

I found some short white metal nails and cut the ends off and made them into tiny screwdrivers on the ends. With a hint of glue, I stuck them in the holes and they fit perfect! Now I have full control over the colors just by turning my homemade knobs:

Some more pics:

RED:

It was really hard for my camera to pick up the red. I think it actually looks nicer than the white in person. You can't really see it well here:

Looks great. Sweet idea on the "knobs" for the control box. I might have to do something similar. The only issue would be removing the cover from the control box, but I think I can work that out.

It took me about an hour to install. It's VERY easy. Why wait?

Looking good Jason!
The "knobs" are a great idea. Your lighted foot wells look great also!
I'm in the process of downsizing my vinyl stickers right now (I tried to fill the whole screen with the logo the first time and the diffusion pattern of the LED's didn't quite fill the bottom corners of the characters). This is really a slick mod IMO.
