Default Magnaflo Mufflers

Please let me hear from anyone who has replaced stock mufflers with Magnaflo S/S Mufflers. I have a terrific exhaust guy who says the stock system with a test pipe is fine for general use and that replacing the stock mufflers with Magnaflos will give me a fine system that is approx. 30% louder than stock and will pick up some HP at 6000 plus RPM.
He wants approx. $300 to install S/S Magnaflos
Comments please on this.
Thanks in advance for help with this.

Go for it, I got the smaller ones, panted black. but I have heard the larger S/S polished mufflers, and they sound just right. IMO

Magnaflow s/s are oem'd comptech and spugen. 30% louder is a good comparison on a scale where Invidia is 100. If you take out the stock resonator, that loudness figure approaches 75%,

If you compare the costs of a new/used catback, just replacing the mufflers is a steal.

I had this done last week. I did not get the stainless. I want the car to look completely stock. I am happy with it. I paid $270, S/S would have been $300.,

I don't want louder. I want deeper throttle sound. I'm going with spugen and comptech intake. Invidia and Apexi were well priced but thanks for telling that it was the loudest. I thought $300 install was a lot for a simple job. I was hoping for $50 and a pack of beer.

It is deeper and a bit louder, not much. The cost of the mufflers is about $80 each. There is some work to be done to get them on, The also welded the stock tips on. not bad for $270 total
