Well, you hit the nail on the head. You will need a laywer to prove you are correct. The dealership realizes that and will keep denying it until you "prove" it to them with a laywer, or give up and pay them to do the work. Either way, you have to pay,

Agreed! If you print that out and show it to a dealership they MIGHT change thier mind, but don't bet on it. It seems like dealerships are being really harsh on warrantys lately.

Note the word "contributed". If your motor dies and you have anything on the car aftermarket that can be scued as contributed.

I sent some info to (LEGALBILL)on this awhile ago when Steves (BASS ) clutch blew up after just having it warrantied, they would not replace it because his warranty ran out. Not sure of the out come though.

Jeff you are a SEMA member as I .There is lots of help concerning warranty and state laws . They have offered to come to my state to talk to DMV about profiling and how it was illegal to do so. (ex . I could mod a Mustang to the max but if I did the same mods to my Honda I would get pulled over and told it was illegal.) I'm sure they would be very helpful on this subject also.

The actual court interpretation of the law is very much on the side of the manufacturer. As an example, if you mod the engine for more power and then have a failure anywhere in the power train in court you will lose since extra power will always be viewed as contributing to a power train failure. If the stereo broke you would win.
