Default maintenance light

Has anyone else had to pay $170 for a maintenance check up?
I went in today and had to pay $170 for brake check, change wipers, tire rotation, and reset maintenance light. How is that $170...AND I AM STILL UNDER WARRANTY

Warranty is 3 years 36,000 miles, time starts upon delivery of the car so you may or may not be under warranty. However those Items are not covered under a factory warranty because they are maintence items. and FYI the maintence light only comes on because the car thinks it's due for an oil change. It's rigged into the odometer to come on every 3700ish miles. The other stuff could just be recomended because of mileage of your car.

Actually, the maintenance light comes on every 7500 miles, I think. Also, if they rotated your tires, I hope they took them off the wheels and remounted them on the opposite side. That's a lot of work that is not necessarily recommended. The tires are different sizes front to rear and the rear wheels do not fit on the front of the car. As well, the stock tires are directional and cannot be swapped from side to side wthout removing them from the wheels, flipping them and remounting.

In other words, you better hope they didn't rotate your tires.

BTW, 30000 mile service shouldn't be much more than 250.

Oh, and by the way. Wipers should be pretty much free (ie not labor) except for parts which is only a few bucks each. Resetting the maintenance light should be free since it takes all of about 10 seconds to do and no tools or parts. They better not have rotated your tires unless they went through all of the above described including rebalancing them. So you are saying they charged you $170 to remove your wheels and check your brake pads????????

WOW, dude.

That is the last time I am bringing it in for the maintenance light. I'm not spending $170 for nothing anymore!

By the way, has anyone heard of "Safeguard Lease". It's like $600.
It is an insurance policy on the wear and tear during the lease. Basically anything that Honda says is excessive wear and tear they will charge the lease holder. BUT, this covers all that up to $5,000.00.

Does anyone have this?

Your dealer is going to love you. You just paid $170 for new wiper blades and 20 minutes of labor.

yeah... they pretty much raped you...

Tire rotation? umm... staggered setup, and you are NEVER supposed to switch tires from one side of the vehicle to the other...

Change wipers? $10-15... maybe...

Reset maintenance light? that just blinks at 6000 miles and comes on solid every 7500 miles to tell you you need an oil change (if you dont reset it when you get an oil change...

$165 brake check?

I think they just F***ed you... I would go in there and raise all sorts of hell with them...
