Arrow Maintenance Required Light?

Hey guys, had a quick question. My 01 Spa just turned 25K miles. The Maintenance Required light started coming on soon after. I just changed the oil and there is no scheduled maintence at this time. Is this light different than the check engine light? Is the motor losing power because of it? Such as retarding timing because of the ecu? Any ideas? Thanks.

As a new owner there is alot to know about the car, you should take a look at the sticky topics in the Library, Under The Hood and here.

Enjoy the car!

buy a new owners manual. it isn't doing anything but telling you it is time for the recomended maintence,

read the owners manual . . . .

Is it really that much of an inconvenience to help the guy out. In the time it took you guys to write "read the owners manual...", you could have given the OP some form of a helpful response.

OP, if you don't need any scheduled maintainence, just...

1. turn off the engine
2. press and hold the trip button, then turn the ignition switch to on
3. hold the button until the indicator goes off

to those actually willing to help
to those too condescending to

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. But teach him how to fish and you feed him for life

I totally agree with this statement, but in this case, the OP doesn't have an owners manual.

sometimes the dealer gives its own maintenance stuff for all of their cars, and they probably reset the light to come on according to that schedule...I know my local dealer set the light o come on every 5000 miles.

The dealer has absolutely no power in setting the mileage count for the S2000 MAINT. REQUIR'D light.
