But c'mon....do you really believe the marketing spin or are you going to sue them for advertising a car...

I do not believe that anybody here bought the car because they happened to be at a Honda dealer and they were persuaded that this is the best car ever! We bought it because of the special features and that's what you pay for.
Again, I am sorry to say but buying car number one out of the first production run is not the most clever thing in the world...engineers should know better (no flame intended)
(my two cents worth...)

A small note: Because of the triple synchroniser in the second gear, you will have to make sure that the clutch is depressed all the way.

Cheers

You've got a point there, but it is just terribly frustrating to have the car in the shop all the time for silly things that should have been fixed the first time around. I know the car was actually released late here by about 5 months so you would have thought some of these things would have been worked out.

I can't complain too much though...I got mine in Oct 1999 and have over 50k on it and have just begun to experience some major problems. I guess i am one of the "more" lucky ones!

Last time I checked our economy was capitalistic. Furthormore MSRP by definiation is only a suggested price.

Again I'm sorry you're having so many problems, but in all honestly I (an engineer myself) didn't expect the 2000 S2000 to be as "bulletproof" as other Hondas. After all this is the first front-engine RWD Honda has made in many, many years -- that alone should have told you something. I'm not trying to say we should all expect problems, and I do feel Honda should fix your problems (without having to make multiple attempts). I suggest you find another dealership to do the tranny work and start looking into your "lemon" law. Good luck...

You're joking right!! LOL... I cannot believe you even suggested this.....LOL... Geez...what a good laugh!

Did you even know the S2000 was released to celebrated Honda's 50th Anniversary? If it would have been an Acura then that would've looked kind of stupid!! From what I heard, Acura tried REALLY hard to convince Honda to put the S2000 in their line-up, and they were pissed when it Honda made the correct choice to have it badged a Honda!

Like I said Acura really wanted this car, and initially American Honda wasn't sure they could really sell a high-priced car with a Honda badge. That's why AHM initially only agreed to import the car for two years (and that's how the rumor got started that Honda was only going to produce the car two years...but that's a differenet story). I believe (mother) Honda really wanted this car badged a Honda everywhere, but possibly at first it was going to be an Acura here in the US and then AHM finally agreed to take it.
