adding dynamat or something similar to the interior will help keep out the roadnoise. Should be complimented by a hardtop with a dynamat treatment as well.
Dynamat is good, but not as good as QuietCar, and it's a lot heavier too.

Done, done, and done.

Made it a tiny bit more "comfortable."

Then put in a crap load of stiffening and bracing...

Stiff as a board now.

I'd recommend the OEM 16 inch wheels.
Or a different vehicle altogether.

Yes, there is not a lot you can do to make this car more comfortable. I am glad you chose the S2000, but this is not a comfortable car on any level. I want to do sound deadening myself. From what I hear, it is one of the most worthwhile things to do to the car.

NICE adjustable shocks on the softest settings, with stock springs maybe?

Mabey. However, since the orignal poster is a former member of the armed services, perhaps a little respect is in order.

Most of the aftermarket parts for the car tend to make it less "comfortable" and more "harsh" as this is supposed to improve handeling characteristics.

I'm sorry, I can't be more help.
did not sound like he meant to say it in disrespect... sounds like he was suprised that he would say something similar to his fatther.

anyways, you can dynomat your car. the floor, doors, trunk, convertible area, behind the seats, and you can also get the softtop headliner

My vote is to get a hardtop, I just got one, and it made a world of difference in driving comfort.

Seriously- consider a 2007 MX-5 with the power retractable hardtop. The MX-5 is a much smoother riding car and has better creature comforts while maintaining the roadster feel. The NC is pretty stiff and has a decent motor too. Not nearly as hardcore as the S2K but it sounds like you might love it...
