Default Manhattan Honda

Have any fellow Manhattanites had their s2k's serviced at Manhattan Honda? I'm debating whether to buy the hard top through them and have them install it, or ordering a top through H and A, having it shipped to a friend's house in Jersey and installing it myself. I'd prefer the time-saving convenience of having the dealer do it, but I'd rather do it myself it they're going to screw something up. I'd be interested in hearing other's experiences.

They're idiots. You mean the guys on 11th Ave, right? Total morons. Didn't know about any TSB's. Their shop looks dirty and they didn't inspire confidence at all.

Definitely buy the hardtop from H and A. You'll save money on the price. If you want a dealer to install it, use another dealer.

Unfortunately, no one in the greater NYC metro area (including north NJ) has spoken up about having a great dealer service department -- except that some people stongly endorsed Honda City in Levittown on Hempstead Turnpike (ask for Charles Ryder).

If you can pre-arrange it with your auto body shop of choice, buy direct from Honda and then have them ship it to the shop.

Agree with Sunchild that most of the Honda dealers in the NY metro area suck and I would DEFINITELY stay the hell away from any car dealer in Manhattan.

Sigh! I suspected as much. The fact that the place looks like a converted parking garage (yeah, I'm talking about the 11th Ave. location), it wasn't inspiring much confidence. And while the dealer out in Jersey where I bought the car (Honda of Essex) has what looks to be a very clean and organized shop, they want to charge me $3900.00 for the top and install. Hello! I can order the top from HandA, install it myself, upgrade the head unit and speakers, do the rear panel mod, and add an amp for that much. Well, I guess I now know what I'm going to be doing one Sunday in September.
