Default Many thanks to Hardtopguy

I just wanted to put in special thanks to Jeff at hardtopguy.com. I ordered a new black hardtop over the phone and he was willing to travel several hours to Syracuse NY in his truck to deliver and install the hardtop. I couldn't ask for better service - really, I couldn't. He worked quickly installing the hardware and made some minor adjustments after a short test drive with the new top on. He then showed me and my girlfriend how to put it on and take it off safely. He has wealth of knowledge about the S2000 and gave many tips for long-term care of both the top and the car itself.

I know he has received some flak here on the forum and I would ask to be patient - call and leave a message if necessary. He's one of the nicest guys I've met and he made one happy customer out of me.

well being a few hours away is different than being ten thousand miles away but i'd still think he'd email you back alricl, even if it was to tell you fv<k no 'cause shipping would be way too expensive. no local honda rep to go through in new zealand?

alricl - Call and leave a message for him. You can also reach him through Boyland Acura parts department where he has a day job.

http://www.boylandacura.com/

Hondacurian - tips on how to resolve some of the squeaks and rattles that will come up with the top, and said he would send a sample of a lubricant for the seals that touch the hardtop. He also showed me how to repair the seal along the top of the windshield frame if it becomes worn down. Also, he explained how the latch hooks on the soft top will become more loose over time and begin to make noise in the cabin. He said to tie them down tightly using a black rubber band.

Also, he showed me how to resolve the squeaks with the passenger seat (no need to use felt, but just liberally apply a leather protectant on the back of the seat). He also gave me a bit of advice on my winter tires - I was planning on swapping them with my summer wheels in mid April, but he mentioned that if the temperature is hovering around 50, which it is now in the Hudson Valley, it is time to swap sooner rather than later. He also introduced me to the products at http://www.modifry.com/

These are questions I had, and for me, it's invaluable information.

blitzxjz - it took me a minute to get the joke

I ordered my OEM lip from him and the service was excellent. He was actually out of the office for a couple of days for medical reasons, but got back to me as soon as he could.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.
