Default March Issue SCC. Correct #s?

Sport Compact Car has an S (not sure of year) with the Vortech Supercharger that does the 1/4 mile in 13.7. Is this correct? And 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds??? For $4500, I would like to see results like an APR Stage III kit for the 1.8T. Are these #s correct???

Very well could be, I think. Getting off the line in the s2k is enough work as is, add more HP/TQ to the equation, and I bet a good launch is a bitch to get, not to mention w/FI I dont think the rear of the S is going to be happy with 6.5k+RPM clutch dumps. I would guess from a roll in the sweet spot of the powerband it pulls like crazy. Educated guesses though, never driven a FI S yet.....

Ugh, you can't compare a turbocharged car from the factory to a NA car. It is a hell of a lot easier to extract the power from a VW/Audi 1.8T then from the F20C. Plus the APR kit provides almost 300lbs of torque.

The Vortech numbers have to be taken in a different context. First SCC or whoever did the testing probably didn't feel like ripping the hell out of the car that they don't own. Like V8NV stated the drivetrain is a major issue with this car. Stock S2000s can run anywhere from 13.8 to 14.5 depending on the driver. So the Vortech kit can and probably does low 13s in the right hands. If I remember right the guys from Evolution were able to pull off a low 13 number.

I'd like to see comparitive road-course laptimes, not clutch-burning 0-60 and 1/4 mile times...

Based on info elsewhere on this board, Blown S2000's kick major ass on the track.

we'll see on the next track day. If I get to use a timer? I know my car can pull 1:22's consistently with out the SC well see what I can get with.
Also on the 1/4 mile my best is a 15.2 at 5800 ft (this is also when my engine had 1000 miles), we'll see what I can get with the SC

The S in the article appears to be an '02 or '03. It's Sebring Silver and has the chrome rings around the brake lights. The Comptech kit runs almost the same acceleration numbers also. Not a huge difference at all when compared with stock. BUT, SCC did a 15 - 100 mph test when they had the Comptech car, and it was like 4 seconds faster than stock!!! That's significantly faster, and shows a completely usable gain in power. I'm sure the Vortech would show the same gains. 0-60 and 1/4 miles times don't tell everything.
