Today I have got 240.1 kph ( 149.2 mph )on the freeway, and I had to stop down due to traffic. I think that the car could have reach 250 kph ( 155 ) or even a bit more. The speed was measured with an emap-GARMIN GPS. At that speed I was reading 248 kph on the speedo, so 3.2% of error.

At just over 600 miles on my stook I got it to 153mph. at 1,500 miles the car would do no more than 156. Not too long ago I saw 161 for the first time, and I have 2,900 miles to date. It was quick, so I could be mistaken. It could have been 160, or 162, not really sure...I didn't stay there but for a moment. My car is totally stock save for the JR filter, and the temp has been in the 30s here.

PS I don't drive fast unless the conditions are perfect, and I always use the same road.

What are the chances of the car becoming airborne at these speeds?

---------------
...I just could see that at 262km/h my rev displays 8300rpm...
---------------

BlueS2000, S2000 is geared to do 266km/h at 9000revs in the 6th gear. That means that at 8300 revs in 6th - you were really doing 'only' 245.3km/h.

Still, 245km/h is more than good enough for me.

If you are after a land speed record get yourself a hardtop (or better still, a mugen hardtop) and a windtunnel tested aero kit (Honda and Mugen are, don't know about the rest). These can easily be worth +20 to 30km/h.

... but please don't try it on my neighbourhood.
