i think anything beyond 15 will start giving you trouble in your insurance, and tickets get exponentially more expensive

Realistically I drive 5-10mph over the speed limit on average....of course I open her up if the road is clear, there are no merge ramps or median turn arounds in sight and no traffic....I ALWAYS slow down for those and other potential speed trap spots....the best time to speed is when there are a lot of other cars on the road going 15+ over anyway.

I hit 150 on PA219 last week while driving from DC to Buffalo, NY to visit my girlfriend :) For most of the drive I kept it between 90-95 mph.

LOL i have been waiting for a thread like this. I am friends with all the local police, so i rarely get tickets, PLUS we have a big empty interstate bridge...

Thanks for all the responses. One reason for this thread is I got caught doing 92 in a 65 in Oregon about 2-weeks ago (I live in Colorado) $427.00 - he tagged me with Laser - I never saw him which was amazing since you could probably see Mexico as the interstate was so long and straight. I was polite and took my medicine and he let me move along.

Yes - I saw they raised the speed limit in Texas on some roads to 80. I wish they would do that elsewhere.

I added a link below showing all State Speed Laws.

Thought I was in for at least a lecture and more likely a ticket this morning. I was on my way to Dyess AFB Fitness Center to work out and there is this stretch of road about a mile long with no driveways, just nice 4 lane. Speed limit is 50 mph but I was up to about 70 mph when I spotted a city cop coming the other way and I thought I was dead. :( I pulled into the left turn lane at the light and waited....and waited. No cop!! I could swear he did a U-turn after I passed him but he never showed up. I went through the base gate and did my workout with a smile. :D
