Depends on a lot of things. If I'm alone, than 10 over, if traffic is moving faster, I'll move as fast as the fastest cars.

I drove down to FL about 2 months ago from NY (To Miami). Other than the fact that I did it in about 16:30 hours without stopping other than for gas, my average speed was somewhere in the 85-95 range, with me breaking 100 many times and driving for quite a bit at that speed. I was not driving my S though, it was an MB I was driving down to/for someone.

One point proving you will not kill yourself at speed...

The last thing I can afford is a serious speeding ticket and a cop threatening to suspend my license for reckless driving.

Well, I guess it depends, but in NY the speed limit is 55 and I usually cruise to/from work and school at 70.

Here in the bay area, the speed limit on the freeways is 65.. but unless it's rushhour, people always go around 80-85.

But on a rural road that I don't know well.. I wouldn't go above 20mph over speed limit. because if they catch you 20+mph over, say byebye to your car and hello to a holding cell. (At least here)

On I-5 around Central California, the posted limited is 75. Everyone is going 90+ anyways.

I travel alot of rural highways back and forth across florida, and most of the time I do about 4-9 over...except on the few roads I know there isn't another soul for 20 miles...I've hit 153 out in the middle of BFE....

20 and over is considered reckless driving here in MD, and in other states as well, so as a rule, keep it less that 20 over unless you're in trafic, or good at spoting radar traps. Insurance is expensive enough without 4 or more points on a single ticket.
