Default maximum speed on a dyno?

Anyone know what the maximum speed dyno's allow? I assume it varies between dynojet, mustang dyno, etc.

I only ask cuz a guy said he went to 171mph on a dyno, and I was under the impression a dyno could not attain that high of a speed.

maybe a shitty dynometer would have a 'speed limit' and therefore you would need to keep the car in lower gears while running it through the powerband but most all dynos i've been too are built to allow the cars wheels to spin as fast as needed. of course some mount to the axels and require you to take your wheels off and others sit the rear wheels on a huge roller. don't try to run your car to 171 mph if u are worried that the thing could jump out of place and take off.. although that could be one hell of a launch
