"Meeses in my motor!"
Hi Everyone,
Been a long time since I've been on here.
The other day I was checking the oil level in my baby and decided to check the air filter. Imagine my surprise when I removed the cowling and discovered a pile of fuzz and mouse turd$ in a corner of the filter housing!!! Apparently, a mouse (or mice) had found his way up into the filter housing and found my filter a tasty morsel. No kidding. He ate completely through the paper filter covering an area about 4 inches by 3 inches. There is a metal mesh backing the paper- but am concerned that some of the chewed up paper element was sucked into the engine.
Have any of you run into this before?
Thanks,

Take action now. Rodents also like rubber as in radiator hoses and wire insulation. I believe they are attracted to the warm engine. Farmers (tractors) and RVers have these problems all the time. On my Jeep Wrangler I've had 'em nest in the air cleaner box and also use it as a pantry. They did indeed gnaw a radiator hose and ruined it and also the radiator overflow hose. Stole part of the sound deadening insulation too for nesting material. Declare war now. It'll get worse as winter approaches and they move inside.
Varmints hate ceramics - if you do not plan to drive the car for a while, put a bag of ceramics broken flower pot) i the exhaust tip.
I have found that moth balls deter them in the air intake tract- filling a ziploc and punch a few holes seems to help.
